I bought this Emile Henry Tagine as a gift for my daughter's boyfriend, who had been looking for one for a long time. I chose this one for several reasons: it can be used both on the stove top or in the oven; it can go directly on gas or electric burners without a diffuser; their technology allows it to be used on high heat and to go from freezer to microwave to oven; it is lead-free (not always true of imported ones) and it is very beautiful!
They called me as they were eating their first meal cooked in it, a delicious and original concoction of chicken, squash, chinese 5-spice mix, apricots and cinnamon. They reported that it cooked beautifully, cleaned up easily, and looks great in the kitchen.
I bought from Amazon because of the lowest price and quickest service getting it to me. I ordered on a Tuesday and no other vendor could promise that I would have it by Friday! (Even with fast delivery service, they couldn't get the order processed and get it out their door fast enough.) With Amazon, it arrived perfectly on time as promised.
